Lake Erie Ultimate Angler Guide Services and Private Lessons

Our Guiding Operations

Over the past 5 years, we have gone from a shop that has a few guides and runs a few trips, to a shop that has a busy guiding season with plenty of options to keep our anglers busy!  We have brought in more guides, and opened up new waters to expand our operations.  Take a look at what we have to offer and feel free to email us or call with any questions.  All guided trips include flies, leaders, lunch and on the water instruction.  Some trips include cost of floats as well.  We have several guiding options that are available to us.  These include:

*Guiding in Pa, Ny and Ohio for Steelhead

*Guiding for Smallmouth and Largemouth in the Presque Isle Bay via wading or Boat

*Float trips on the Allegheny and Clarion River for trout

*Native Brook Trout trips

*Float trips on the Grand River in Ohio for Steelhead

Cost of trips, and seasons:

Steelhead: $350 full day, 2 people/$295.00 full day, 1 person.  $275.00 1/2 day (up to 2 people).  The season typically starts in early October and can go strong until March.  Trips are an 8 hour day on the water (usually from 7:00-3:30)

Trout: $350.00 full day/$295.00 fulll day, 1 person day.  $275.00 1/2 day.  With the abundance of delayed harvest stretches, we can usually find trout any time of year, although spring and early summer are the most consistant.

Smallmouth Wading: $350.00 full day/$295.00 1 person for a full day.  1/2 day is $275.00.  Late April to early July are usually the best times to fish for these fantastic and hard fighting fish!

Smallmouth Boat: $400 a trip.  Trip goes from 7:00-1:00.  Fishing from an 18 foot center console with a US Coast Guard licensed captain.  We provide rods, gear, snacks and drinks.  Just bring a rain jacket, sunglasses and your casting arm!  We are limited to 2 people aboard the boat.

Grand River Float Trips: $400.00.  An awesome way to catch steelhead!  Incredibly fun.  We recommend it 100%!!!

Instruction:  We can take you out and teach you all about fly fishing!  Trips that are a full day run the same as guide trips.  Also, 2 hour beginner lessons are available for $100.00.

For wading trips, 3 people  is an additional $50.00,  and for trips with 4 or more people, we have to use two guides.

Guides we work with:

All of us that work at the shop are licensed guides with plenty of local experience to back us up (Steve Brugger, J.T. Davis and Don Tammaro).  We mostly do the local trips, ie. smallmouth in the bay, Elk, Walnut and 20 Mile steelhead.  We can also do trips for trout at Oil Creek.  If you are interested in the Clarion river, and you should be, you will be fishing with Damon Newpher, who also does the Allegheny floats.  He also guides steelhead in the east side of Pa, and some trips in New York as well as some brookie and small stream trips. Damon is also an Orvis endorsed guide.  For Float trips on the Grand, and fishing Ohio, we use Greg Senyo and his crew, who also happens to be an Orvis Endorsed guide, and awesome fly tyer.  We also have Barry Eckwahl as a guide, who is on Regal Vice Pro Staff.  Barry operates primarily in New York on Chautauqua and the Catt.  All in all, we have a great crew of professional guides we can get you booked with to offer you the trip of a lifetime.

For a really cool trip idea in the spring and summer, check out Jim Sharpe's Sharpefly Guide Service.  Jim runs trips out of a center console in both Lake Erie and Presque Isle Bay for Largemouth, Smallmouth, Pike and any other fish foolhardy enough to get within casting range.  Jim specializes in taking these fish all on the fly, and his style is very similar to what one would see fishing for stripers!  Jim is a USCG certified captain, and has spent years perfecting his techniques.  A trip with him is highly recommended!  Below is a link to his websight.
