TMC 2488H hooks in sizes 10-18 (We recommend tying lots of
size 14)
3/0-6/0 tying thread in your choice of color and bobbin
Sissors
Whip Finish
Micro Yarn in your choice of color
A coffee stir with two sides cut down to a length of about 1
inch (If you cannot find one like this, you can also use a coffee
stir with only one tube, and just put both materials in the same
tube)
A threader (used to pull the micro yarn through the tube)
1. Start the thread and work to the back of the hook
shank.
2. Tie in the micro yarn leaving approx 1/8 inch sticking
off the back of the hook and take three wraps in front of it.
3. Simply pull the coffee stick away from the hook,
allowing material to slide through it. ( You will get a feel
for how much material to let out after just a little
practice. The bigger the hook, the more material you let
out).
4. Push the coffee stick back, and take three wraps of
thread at the front of the loop you have just formed.
5. Repeat this proccess up the hook shank making between 3
to 5 total loops.
6. Whip finish, add a little head cement to both the head
and the underside.
